My name is Mario Maroquin, I am originally from El Salvador. My family moved to the U.S. when I was 12 and I have lived here ever since. I am a freelance journalist in the Centre County area with a bachelor's degree in print journalism and a focus in cultural anthropology from the Pennsylvania State University. 

In addition to being a journalist I am also an avid advocator for education and hope to use my skills in communications to bring about social justice. 

In addition to being fluent in English, I am also fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
